It is such a stunning nail art design, agree? This butterfly wing nail art looks absolutely cool and charming on an accent nail. But compared with other nail art design on this blog, this one requires kind of skillful hand drawing.
To complete this nail art design, more tools are needed, including a magnetic polish, magnet, art brush, and a dotting tool.
Although the design is a little bit complicated, the final result is surprising. After some practice, you can surely get fabulous nail art design in a much shorter period of time.
What you need:
Nail polishes: Pink, Magnetic Pink/Purple, Black, Glitter, Off White
A dotting tool
An art brush
Step 1: Main base polish is applied.
In this design, I choose pink polish. After the applying, wait for the polish to dry or use a quick dry polish.
Step 2: Magnetic polish is applied. And then magnet is placed over the applied polish.
Keep the magnet over for about 10 seconds. Actually the length of time varies depending on the polish manufacturer. Once again, wait for the polish to dry before continuing next step.
Step 3: Start drawing the butterfly wing with black polish and the art brush.
First, draw a small arc shape at the right corner in the bottom of your nail.
Step 4: Create some lines from the arc to the tip of your nail, just like what is shown in the picture.
Step 5: Complete the blank space between the lines and your nail tips using black polish.
Step 6: Fulfill the blank space between the first arc and the bottom right hand corner using glitter polish.
Step 7: Create some small white or off white dots with the dotting tool.
Add the dots to the tip of your nail. Take the picture as reference.
Step 8: Finish the nail art with two layers of top coat to protect the design.
- Practice drawing the lines several times before adding them to your nail, so as to create stunning result.
- The dotting tool can be substituted for a toothpick, or other tools that can add dots to your nails.
- In case of no magnetic polish, create a gradient color with pink and white instead.
