How much do you like Beyonce’s messy updo? I share the same opinion with Nelson Bray, owner and stylish at Indigo Bliss Hairspy in Florida. “This messy-chic updo is one of my favorite Beyonce hairstyles and is great for a quick last minute’s do, or for someone who can not be tamed, but still wants to be elegant,” said Nelson Bray. And she did introduce the step-by-step tutorial of the style. If you like to try it, carry on the following post.
How to Create the Beyonce’s Messy Updo:
Step1: Start by smoothing the hair back into a low ponytail.
You can part the front hair like the one in Beyonce’s hairstyle, or divide it the way wherever you like, the most comfortable one or brushing it straight back without any part at all. According to Bray, “ While smoothing the hair into the ponytail, spray it with a light hold or working hairspray to tame down any flyaways.”
Step2: Secure the hair with an elastic.
You can just secure the low tail using an elastic. Or follow what Bray said, “Or, you can use my trick for a simple, no tangle, damage-free option! I use a rubber band and attach two bobby pins to it on opposite sides. I stick one of the bobby pins into the hair between my hand and the scalp and, holding the other bobby pin, I wrap the rubber band around the ponytail until it is tight, then I stick that bobby pin into the hair in between the rubber band and the scalp,”
Step3: Pull up the ponytail and roll it into a loop.
Slightly open up the space between the elastic and the scalp, and divide the hair between the elastic and the scalp into two parts with your finger. Slightly pull the ponytail up from the neck and cross the hole. Then keep crossing until letting as much length hang out as desired. After completing, secure the hair from the underside using bobby pins.
Step4: Add shine and finish by spritzing hairspray.
This is the last step of this tutorial. After finishing it, you can rock a messy but still charming Beyonce’s updo.
